According to Lumberton ISD Superintendent Dr. Gerald Chandler, students visiting Baptist Hospital were concerned they were exposed to the coronavirus. The Brooks Report reached out to the District to confirm whether these rumors being spread on social media were true or not. In response, the Lumberton ISD and Baptist Hospital have issued a joint statement. “Lumberton ISD is aware of rumors circulating that a patient at Baptist Hospital entered through the Emergency Services Department with the Coronavirus while our LHS Health Science Technology students were completing clinical rotations. None of our students were in the Emergency Department today. All of the students were on different floors in the hospital. We have been in communication with Baptist Hospital and they report that there are no confirmed cases of the Coronavirus at their facility. We will continue to maintain communication with Baptist Hospital, the Hardin and Jefferson County Health Departments and other medical professionals.”
